Hope you’re having a happy Labor Day!
I can’t believe it’s just five days out from the 7th Annual Jersey Shore Ride for Food Justice, and I couldn’t be more excited for another year of community and bike riding for a great cause.
Michael and I have been on the ride committee since the beginning, 7 years ago, and we’ve been delighted to have friends and family join us on the ride! It’s been a fantastic day each year. We’ve helped to raise nearly $350,000 for social justice initiatives that serve people throughout the Jersey Shore area and beyond.
Here’s how to join, volunteer, and donate: The Jersey Shore Ride For Food Justice. and there’s a kids ride too! Team members can ride different distances,
Our team for the ride is The Stoics!

This event is so much more than riding a bike.
This weekend Trinity Church Saturday Soup crew prepared a meal for over 200 people, social workers met with clients, and community members learned valuable job skills on-site. That’s just a regular Saturday at the Trinity Center for Community.
It’s why your efforts to fundraise, and be involved in the ride are so important. Your dedication directly helps those who need it most.
History of The Ride For Food Justice
Seven years ago, a small group of parishioners combined their passion for cycling with a deep desire to serve their community. This vision led to the creation of the Jersey Shore Ride for Food Justice.
Our inaugural ride was a resounding success, attracting 40 riders, 3 sponsors, and raising over $20,000.
The ride has grown exponentially since then. Last year, our sixth annual event, we proudly hosted over 190 riders, secured 16 sponsors, and raised an impressive $68,000!
To date, we have collectively raised over $340,000 for the Trinity Center for Community. With your support, the sky’s truly the limit as we strive to make an even greater impact this year!
Here is some essential information for the day of the ride.

-
SAG Support: We will have SAG (Support and Gear) cars “sweeping” the routes to help with breakdowns or lost riders.
-
Ride Marshalls: Each route will have a designated Ride Marshall wearing a neon vest.
- 15, 30, or 62 miles along the Shore
- A ride of any distance at the location of your choice
- A short loop around Liberty Square Park perfect for youth riders
