When you don’t feel it…

Hello friends~

I’m just going to lay it out right here.

The days you don’t feel like showing up are the days your program matters most.

Today was one of those days for me. It’s a gloomy Monday morning, and I didn’t sleep well at all. Bad dreams, waking up repeatedly. I was gonna bail on the session with my small group. Not only would I have missed seeing them and it would have cheated them out of the workout, but I would have missed the workout for me too. We met up, did the workout, and I think it helped us all feel a sense of purpose and productivity that will enable us to feel empowered in the day.

When you dont feel it
When you don’t feel like it – that’s when it really matters.

All of this …

It’s been impossible to avoid the news about the Epstein files, and to contain the outrage about Pam Bondi’s blatant disrespect of members of Congress, and refusal to acknowledge survivors of trafficking and sexual abuse.

The The SAVE Act, although the name makes it seem innocuous, would create massive barriers for millions of eligible voters by requiring proof of citizenship – especially married women, naturalized citizens, trans, minority communities, and elderly voters. The president has vowed to enforce the act before the midterms, and if so, it will upend democracy as we know it. We can’t let this happen. It will end vote by mail, except in certain specific cases. I hope you’ll state your opposition with the League Of Women Voters.

The president has gutted the EPA. Enriching industries at the expense of human health, Trump is supporting the oil, natural gas and coal industries – while slowing or stopping the expansion of electric vehicles and renewable energy.

Bad Bunny is being threatened with action from the FCC, but thankfully at church yesterday, our pastor talked about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show, weaving in his themes of love, unity, and self acceptance: “You should believe in yourself. You’re worth more than you think.”  And, “The only thing stronger than hate is love.”

Breath work, walks, exercise, reading uplifting messages, philosophy and poetry … it all helps … a bit.

Standing up for one another is our job. It’s the reason we’re on the planet. My mission is to empower you with strength and confidence.

If you’re tired, distracted, and vibes are just off, sleep is disrupted, and maybe everything feels harder than it should…

Here’s what I’ve learned after 20+ years of training:

It’s not about “pushing through”. When your brain is experiencing any level of chaos, following a plan with a coach is a gift you give yourself.

You don’t need motivation. You need to know there’s a structure that works even when you aren’t feeling it.

If these are feeling like “those” kinds of days, I hope you can rely on a coach you trust so you don’t have to do it on your own.

x

Where I stand in unstable times.

Hi Friends~ Strength and fitness training, nutrition, health, and wellness coaching has felt frivolous lately. This work fulfills my deep desire to be a helper,

Lindsey proved it!

YAY Lindsey! Women have to maintain a higher bar. Period. At work, relationships (personal, family, parenting), and in athleticism – especially at the professional level.

The mental load, and then the work.

Hey friends~ I’ll bet you’ll agree there’s a mental effort to deciding what to do about anything, and then there’s the work of actually doing
